Mmm, smoothed land. Looks much better than the jagged file I sent you originally! Where is this screen taken? Is that Stirk in the distance perhaps?

I appreciate it as well even though I may not be doing that much in terms of modding directly. It's a valuable asset to the project.

It would be cool to have a greyscale heightmap of the Imperial City islands to use for The Sims 3 World Editor-just a (hopefully) small side-request. lol

Sure. It just needs to be in greyscale and with dimensions in a power of two (i.e. 1024x1024).

Hey, can I get a copy of all the new PC files (heightmap, uptated PC_data, ect.)? That way I have somewhere to dump all my meshes and textures.

Sorry SWG, I haven't been around these old forums. I have the heightmap as well as an older version of PC_Data. If you want me to send you the old version of PC_Data let me know and I'll mail it to you.

SamirA Edit: This is the last post in this thread from the old forums. Please pick up any discussion here. Thanks everyone! :)

SGMonkey wrote:Today im just messing about with getting the vertical scale right so that the maximum height (i.e. white) is as close to 32000 game units as possible. At the moment its at 31912, which in my opinion is close enough, plus, any higher and you just fall trhough the land, which isnt ideal.

Now ive got the highest point in a decent place im gonna set the above water ground level. Then the rest will wall into place nicely, you shall see :)

Oh, and just for your information, don't think I mentioned this before. But Cyrodil is 10560 cells in total. It may need to be split up into 2 esp's.

When I originally read this thread I somehow missed the 10k number there. Thats a hell of alot of cells, even if it took 6 minutes on average to do a single cell, that would still be 1000 hours to get it all done. You guys havent thought of getting some sort of exterior generating program to automatically place things like trees and rocks have you? and then of course people would make sure it was ok looking.
Because having computer automatically do stuff like this interests me, I did a quick google search and found probably exactly what Im talking about: http://agents.media.mit.edu/projects/videogame/
Says its still a work in progress, but interesting nonetheless. Unfortunatly has no date. They even use Morrowind as an example! Failing that, I know of a program that will record your on screen actions and repeats them all for you, of course, I think it still works at the speed you work at.(not sure though)
Tarius: I have now conquered the galaxy twice and am working on a third. Once thats out of me, I will be back to work.
TDF: Which game is that(I assume its a game and not real life)
The Khan: If it was real life, we would know about it. And I dont think he means this Galaxy.
Tarius: Yes, I really lead a secret double life where I am a galactic overlord.

Nope, it will all be done by hand. One advantage we have is that nearly all the terrain is raised/lowered to where it should be so it won't need to be touched. Projects like this take a lot of time, but with the quality of work we plan to produce it will attract more modders which will speed up the process. TR now operates at a break-neck pace thanks to the popularity of that project. A popularity we here aspire to achieve as we move forward. Right now our biggest issue is getting all of our models and textures fixed up so that we can begin to move forward with Stirk. It will happen very soon that things begin to get rolling around here. I hope to have my first interior claim sometime in the next month if all indications are as I believe them to be. I look forward to your model showcase Tarius, and feel free to recruit others to help our project. Right now we are heavily in the design stage of things and so many voices are helpful in fleshing out Cyrodiil.

BOO!!! (That was my voice) XD

A hight map will be very handy. Especially for me because I suck at starting from scratch, If there is a land to work on than I have some idea on what I want to do.
