Use this thread to discuss how we want to portray the Fighters Guild in Cyrodiil and how the player will be involved in the story.

History of the Fighters Guild is a must-read going into this discussion, since that's the document that I feel should dictate the aesthetic and organization of the Fighters Guild. A few ideas going off of that though:

-In parts of Nibenay, it's still referred to as the Syffim.
-Fighters Guild members of rank Guardian and up adopt Akaviri names and titles for themselves (although for the sake of continuity, we should refer to them by their given names from Oblivion as well).
-The Fighters Guild is on contract with the Elder Council as a front for the Blades - as far as the public is concerned, Cloud Ruler Temple is the ancient headquarters of the Fighters Guild, and the Emperor's guards are elite Guild mercenaries.

As far as storyline goes, I think it should focus on Vitellus Donton, the guildmaster's son who was killed in action shortly before the events of Oblivion. He is the natural choice for Vilena's successor, seemingly charismatic and open, an inspiring leader. In truth though, he's a xenophobic traditionalist who plans to restore the Fighters Guild to the glory of their Syffim days by banning non-Imperial members, and even then, only those who can reliably trace their bloodlines to Akaviri sources. As the questline goes on, you uncover evidence that he's been attempting to contact the Tsaesci in Akavir, urging a second invasion of Tamriel. Finally, for the good of the guild, it is decided by the guild's leadership (other than Vilena, of course) that you should accompany him on a mission, ostensibly as backup, and see to it that he dies honorably while undertaking the assignment. His death sends Vilena Donton into a deep depression, and sets up the guild's decline for Oblivion.

It seems you have put some thought into this. I like this idea.
