PC_Furn_Com_P_wscrn [Final]

Postby SamirA » 18 Feb 2014, 01:21

This needs to be retextured. It is a TR resource, but the wood does not match the com_p set and the screen could be changed as well maybe.

Are these the TR screens? I always disliked the weird blocky feet on those. Maybe you could refine them a little?

We already have it in data, you can get it from there.

Done:

Made a custom mesh for it. The TR version was not really useful.

I don't like the colour of the screen and I'd prefer it if it was more opaque. The rest looks good, as does the other furniture you've made.

Not sure what you want me to change. Here is another version of the Fabric. Packaged them both so you can take a pick.

isnt the point of a wallscreen to block the vision so you can't see past it ? but looking good otherwise.

the low opacity makes the canvas look like silk although it is clearly a linen? canvas. I have tried a higher alpha value (0.9) for both variants. the black canvas even looks the best with alpha at 0.95 to me. Anything lower makes it appear like silk.

Yeah, the opacity should be changed to be less see through, but otherwise it looks good and is a big improvement over the TR one.

I agree that it looks better with higher alpha values. I re-used vanilla textures since I didn't want to create a new extra texture for this. The black one is the better mix and should be included in the cs? If so you can remove the _02 and include that one.

We can just use both, i think. Should I shift this to review already?

1. Functional

-Are the filenames and IDs correct?
Yes

-Polycount appropriate?
Yes

-Does the size make sense
Yes

-Does the object feature a functioning collision object or the NCO-flag?
Yes

2. Visual

-Are there notable holes in the mesh?
No

-Are there apparent uv-stretches?
The horizontal beams have a little bit stretching. Probably not avoidable with a non-seamless texture. Though no serious visual impact to me.

-Does the object stylistically appear fitting in the game environment?
Yes. A white canvas would have been nice for variation, but we can do without, I think.

-Does the object appear sensible in the world context?
I think so.

3. Testing
Ingame-testing performed to verify the above points.

I can add a white canvas, but I didn't want to create a new texture for an object like this.

I know. I think you could replace the screen texture on 01 for a white canvas still, if you want. I'll leave this object in reviewing for a day. Then I'll shift it to complete regardless.
