Nibenay Basin references and description

Postby ZackG » 04 Jan 2011, 18:22

In Oblivion, the Nibenay Basin is a region in eastern Cyrodiil. The northern part of the region encompasses the city of Cheydinhal.

To the east, it shares a border with the Valus Mountains region. To the west, the region is bounded almost entirely by the Heartlands except for a small area in the north that lies next to the Great Forest. The area stretches south as far as the Panther River. The eastern portion of its southern edge abuts Black Marsh, while the western portion meets the Nibenay Valley and the southern portion borders Blackwood.

The Blue Road enters into the region from the west, and the Yellow Road enters from the west and exits to the south.

In Oblivion I felt that the Nibenay Basin was most likely the most boring of all the regions that were supposed to be fertile. With our jungle theme, I think this is the money maker. I believe that the Nibenay Basin should be our largest endless jungle, as far as what the game can handle.

My Proposal-
Trees-Large leafed, huge trunked trees with vines hanging off, mixed with numerous smaller trees. Ferns everywhere of all sizes. Thick brush. No grass, only ferns where available.
Rocks-Few, moss covered
Flora-Same as Oblivion but could def use more
Ground-Black.

Lets stay away from palms leaves though as it makes me think too much of Argonia for some reason. I like the look of temperate rainforests for this area and less southeast asia.

I think the palms fit rather nicely. There really arent supposed to be many palms in Argonia, its supposed to be more rotten woods, vast marshlands and swamps, not tropical palms.

Palms dont seem to fit in the interior of a continent. Perhaps some views of what makes up the Amazon might be more appropriate.

This is kind of what I have in mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPi0AhQgrDs
The palms never hit me as too coastal or anything.
