Gold Coast Claim Map

This is the most updated version of the claim map. It contains the locations of dungeons, wayshrines and doom stones from Oblivion. It also shows Sutch, although we plan on making a few minor changes in its position and the surrounding landscape in the near future.

Here's the GC claim map with the correct grid:

edit:
Oblivion Roads over GC claim map:

As DJ said it's hard to make them fit. I had to rotate it a little, so if this was a full Cyrodiil map, the road to Cheydinhal would now be in Skyrim.

So, I tried to make the road fit better, while maintaining the general layout (aka me-showing-off-my-awesome-painting-skills  ):

Also, we need to add at least another main road, to link Sutch to the road network.

Osidian do you think you could make the road to Sutch start at the little dogleg in the road in N9? This would make it where the road from Anvil basically T's into the road from Kvatch to Sutch.

Yes sure. I imagine that road would end in the border with Hammerfell, right?

I'll try to make something myself at some point in the proper PNG format. At least Osidian's map will show me exactly what the corrections need to be.

shouldn't that road 'seem' to continue in Hammerfell? Like it goes to the border and then stops abruptly with the landscape just like TR roads do between maps. Otherwise it should just stop in Sutch.

Well Alex, I highly doubt we will make it look like it would abruptly stop on the border, if that's what you mean.

How will the borders with the provinces be made anyway? Cleaned like TR?

EDIT: Making it stop at the border would give the illusion that the road would have continued if we would have made Hammerfell. Making a road just stop in the middle of nowhere doesn't make much sense from the logic POV.

Cleaned?

Also, yeah that's what I meant. Roads won't just stop there right on the border, nor are they going to end in a city and not continuing any further. We'll make it look good enough to outshine Oblivion :P

Dungeon locations and such are all tentative.

Sutch itself needs to be moved for us to do what is planned story wise with it. It's not like its location is official or anything. It should be more in like K-7 so we can get the river to branch around it and claim it is in Hammerfell.

I get the impression that Lord Drad's estate is fairly new. If it existed at the time of Morrowind would Malacath really have waited until Oblivion to free all the ogres?

Actually, only the Bleak Mine appears to be relatively new. It's likely that he also doesn't have the Ogres yet.

It's also possible that he had his estate built in that location due to its proximity to the mining location. He says something about having bought the mine from an Orc.

Map looks nice to me for the most part.
I think Gwenden Farm should be moved over a little more towards Anvil. It looks like its pretty far out considering in the future it was used as a hideout near Anvil for that one gang.

As for that mine, yea I think it was relatively new. I dont think it would be there yet though for MW; or perhaps just getting started.

I was looking at the map and the Gold Coast needs more smuggler's caves on the coastline (although of course they don't have to be caves, they could be forts or alyeid ruins). I imagine there's a roaring illegal trade in dwemer artifacts from Hammerfell. In fact, there could be goods from High Rock, Hammerfell, Valenwood and Summerset Isle, all awaiting a suitable unscrupulous buyer.

Daedric Foe, these are only the Oblivion locations on the map. We won't be marking additional caves and stuff on our maps, modders can add caves individually if they want to. Of course we need more caves; We need more locations in general, like ruins, camps and stuff. Our cyrodiil is way larger than the Oblivion game world.

I mentioned it in another post, but it would be nice if the labels for the locations on the map were in black or something that more easily contrasts with the background.

Got rid of the "texture" (which also erased the border lines but those weren't entirely necessary anyway) and made the location texts black. The trouble before was that the different colors made black text harder to read. I chose red because it stands out more against both light and dark colors-now that there's only a light color involved I could make the text entirely black.

I think I'll only change this for the individual claim maps (as I update them with locations as well-so it won't happen until we are in particular need of them)-though I might do it for the master claim map at some point just to make it easier when I update the individual maps.
