Well, I'm going for the nib, not landscknecht. We'll see anyway, now that I've finally managed to get rigged meshes working properly in game.

Hmm, a quick look and I dont see why there is a problem. Perhaps it has to do with the bones and such. I dont do anything involving rigging meshes. I can try to take a closer look later.
Tarius: I have now conquered the galaxy twice and am working on a third. Once thats out of me, I will be back to work.
TDF: Which game is that(I assume its a game and not real life)
The Khan: If it was real life, we would know about it. And I dont think he means this Galaxy.
Tarius: Yes, I really lead a secret double life where I am a galactic overlord.

Cheers Tarius, I got it working though. Not sure what the problem is but I was using the skeleton from one of the common shirts to rig the custom mesh and apparently the game just doesn't like me doing that. Tried it again with the skeleton from a robe and it worked...

something like this for paddy master?

http://s26.postimg.org/ql9a010qh/nibsforprojcyrod7.jpg

these were the notes I had just incase anyone is interested:

jungle worker fashion

newt-scale dragon shell hats painted the colors of family and empire. never the exact shade of emperor red, but off purple as a sign of respect
facial tattoos of the chosen faith that nib follows. religious fervor is "exceptional in the empire" and many nibs worship a mash-up of foriegn and native gods
ancestor silk wrapped around waist in a skirt-like fashion. embroidered with the ayelid alphabet listing noteworthy ancestor names. the ONLY piece of clothing allowed to be emperor red, as a sign of respect to the ancestors

These guys would be great for the rice paddies. Need higher res textures.

I wasn't 100% about the hat in the concept art but seeing it in-game, I like where you're going with this.

cheers guys. whats the word on polycount for this project? should we stay around vanilla or can we go a little bit more detailed? are we using any of the code patch texture features?

You do not need to absolutely stick to vanilla-level regarding polygons. Some of our objects feature environmental maps, too. As long as things fit in with what we've got otherwise.

Nice design going there. It is the first time I can mentally connect nibenese designs with the imperials in the game. Try to go a little bit less low res with the texture, as others requested and try to model some of the wrinkles into the actual mesh.

I would say Better Clothes is probably a decent target in the interest of keeping things visually compatible.

EDIT:

okay, I don't think I can improve the helmet mesh/texture much more than this. added a leather underpiece for the hard shell to sit on. will make an icon and ground mesh and upload. if anyone wants to have a go at making a higher res texture at that point feel free :)

I wonder how difficult would it be for someone to take this shell (once completed texture wise) and make a new type of crab with it? Could be based on the mud crab even.

id rather see a lizard type creature with a shell than another crab. based on the 'dragons' that rust their hides in the rumare, per the pge

Pants clearly need to be a bit longer so his legs are actually attached at the knee :D

I like the design, just need to mute the tones and make the textures a bit better, but I like the base colors and the designs. Very nice first glimpse at a basic nib.

you could alternatively only occupy the groin part and make sure that legs are well covered.
I like it. It looks like something Bethesda could have made in 2003, if they had added nibenese culture to the game.

Can you maybe just use Dropbox? Or something that doesn't require the user to download a bunch of malware?
